  • To authenticate your account and display your reports
  • To moderate content and enforce our content standards
  • To communicate with you about your reports
  • To prevent spam and abuse
  • To improve the platform

3. What We Don't Do

  • We don't sell your personal information
  • We don't run ads or tracking pixels
  • We don't build advertising profiles
  • We don't share your data with third parties for marketing

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in encrypted databases. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, access controls, and row-level security policies. However, no system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days. Report content may be retained in anonymized form for platform integrity.

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
  • Portability: Export your reports in a machine-readable format

7. Public Information

Reports that pass moderation are published publicly with your display name. Your email, phone number, and other private fields are never displayed. You can choose to report anonymously by not providing a display name.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — for authentication and session management. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

OpenMap Naija is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify users of significant changes via email or platform notification.
