OpenMap Naija is a community-driven platform for mapping Nigeria's civic infrastructure problems — bad roads, broken streetlights, flooding, failed drainage, and more. We are not a government agency, not a legal advisor, and not a factchecker. We provide a public space for citizens to document what they see.
You need an account to submit reports. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe. One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone. If your account is compromised, report it immediately.
Reports should be factual, specific, and based on what you personally observed. Include photos when possible. Don't submit opinions, speculation, completed repairs, political content, or hate speech. Reports go through community and moderator review before becoming public.
You own your content. By submitting a report, you grant OpenMap Naija a non-exclusive license to display, host, and cache it on the platform. Attribution is appreciated but not required. You can request removal of your content by contacting us.
We use a combination of community flagging, human moderators, and AI detection to review reports. Reports that meet our content standards are published publicly. Reports that don't meet standards are rejected and kept private with an appeal option. Repeated violations result in account suspension or permanent ban.
OpenMap Naija is provided “as is” without warranties. We don't guarantee that reports will lead to government action, that the platform will always be available, or that you'll be free from retaliation for reporting. We are not responsible for third-party actions or omissions.
OpenMap Naija, its operators, and contributors are not liable for any damages arising from use of the platform, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
